British Airways is making a welcome return to Guernsey, announcing a new year-round, daily direct service from London Heathrow beginning April 2026. The move, officially revealed on 21 November 2025, marks a significant boost for the Channel Island’s connectivity and underscores BA’s strategy of strengthening its short-haul network out of Heathrow.
The Heathrow–Guernsey service will use Airbus A319 and A320neo aircraft, with flights operating daily from Heathrow Terminal 5. British Airways’ Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning & Strategy Officer, said the airline was “pleased” to expand to Guernsey as “the only direct service between Heathrow and Guernsey,” offering “conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations … as well as North America.” Heathrow to Guernsey services will leave the London hub at 11:55 am, arriving Guernsey at 12:55 pm, with the return flight leaving Guernsey at 1:50 pm and landing back at Heathrow at 2:55 pm.
The initiative is backed by the Guernsey Committee for Economic Development, reflecting strong local support. According to Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, President of the Committee, enhanced air links are “one of the most important economic development levers.” In recent days, Guernsey has faced disruption in its air connectivity following the collapse of Blue Islands, which left many passengers stranded. The BA deal includes a multi-year incentive agreement with capped financial support and route-discount incentives from both Guernsey’s Economic Development Committee and Guernsey Ports.
Local business voices have broadly welcomed the news. The Guernsey Hospitality Association, for instance, described the link as a “hugely positive step” for the island’s tourism and business sectors.
