Bristol Airport Spotting and Fresh Aviation, in collaboration with Bristol Airport, has concluded another successful year of aircraft spotters events, welcoming hundreds of aviation enthusiasts and raising vital funds for charity.
Throughout 2025, five spotters events were held in May, June, July, August, and September, attracting more than 250 attendees of all ages from across the UK. Together, participants helped raise an impressive £1,773 in support of Bristol Airport’s Charity of the Year — the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).
Each event took place on the roof terrace of Bristol Airport’s administration building, an exclusive location that provides panoramic views across the airfield. From this unique vantage point, visitors enjoyed a front-row perspective of aircraft arriving, departing, taxiing, and ground operations — offering a rare opportunity to experience the excitement of airfield activity up close.
Bristol Airport staff were on hand throughout the sessions to answer questions, discuss airport developments, and engage with spotters about aviation topics, operations, and access. The events have grown in popularity year on year, creating a friendly, inclusive community space for aviation enthusiasts while supporting a vital local cause.
As the 2025 spotting season comes to an end due to shorter days and changing weather, Bristol Airport Spotting and Fresh Aviation extends sincere thanks to everyone who attended and supported the events, as well as to Bristol Airport for its continued partnership and assistance in making these sessions possible.
So far this year, you’ve helped raise an amazing £1,773.00 — totalling £3,611.00 over the past few years. Every penny raised goes towards our life-saving missions. Each of those missions brings our specialist crew to someone in urgent need — whether by air or road — delivering the kind of hospital-level care that can mean the difference between life and death.
In 2024 alone, our team responded to 2,272 missions, helping an average of six people every single day across our region. That’s six families who didn’t have to face the worst day of their lives alone — and it’s support like yours that makes that possible.
Thanks again for your continued support.”
