Updated Covid-19 travel restrictions for visitors to the UK

Since February 15th 2021 new quarantine restrictions have come into play for anyone arriving in the UK. Any passengers arriving in the UK must quarantine at home for ten days, and in a Government approved hotel if arriving from a country on the red list.

This has started to help prevent the spread of potential variants of COVID from other countries and preventing further future restrictions.

For a fee of £1.700 you are supplied with bed and board transport to the hotel and Covid tests. Anyone trying to avoid this process faces the threat of a substantial fine. This has had mixed feedback from British people returning with some people waiting long periods of time for COVID testing kits which should be used on day two of quarantine.

With the news from Boris Johnson announcing the road map back to normality, and the easing of restrictions by June, TUI saw a 500% increase in bookings overnight after the announcement. Stocks and shares regarding airlines and travel went very high.

Talks are also under way for a vaccine travel pass, with all these developments the future is looking much more positive for the airline industry.
