Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the UK’s leading leisure airline and largest tour operator, marked a major milestone this morning with their inaugural flight from Bournemouth – their 12th UK base – to Tenerife Sur.
To commemorate the occasion, passengers on the first flight experienced a red-carpet welcome, personalized gifts, and entertainment from the local flamenco band Mi Flamenco. Additionally, one passenger was awarded a complimentary seven-night holiday to the Pure Salt Port Soller in Majorca, presented by Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy, whilst the first ten passengers to check-in all received free return flights with Jet2.
The arrival of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in Bournemouth further expands the companies’ footprint in the South of England and means that both holidaymakers and independent travel agents in Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and the wider region can now benefit from the companies’ award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays. The airline will operate to 16 destinations from Bournemouth Airport, representing over 280,000 seats on sale, with up to 27 weekly flights to operate during summer 2025 on a fleet of two based aircraft.

Since putting flights and holidays on sale from Bournemouth Airport, the airline and tour operator have reported “phenomenal” demand from customers within the airport’s catchment area, and it was as a result of this demand that Jet2 brought forward their launch from Bournemouth from 1st April to 4th February.
Jet2 has also announced the addition of a new route from Bournemouth to Agadir today, replacing the Ryanair UK service which was removed from sale earlier this week from several UK airports including Bournemouth and Bristol.
