TUI Airways has sent a Boeing 737 Max to Bristol Airport today (18th March 2021), the first aircraft of its kind to land at Bristol. The aircraft G-TUMA flew in from Manchester Airport and landed at Bristol around 14.30pm. The aircraft was due to arrive earlier but we understand had a technical issue before departure.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737-8 Max registration G-TUMA has previously been stored at Manchester Airport following the grounding of the new aircraft type late in 2019, we reported here recently that the 737 Max had been cleared to fly in UK and European airspace. It is unclear the reason for flying the 737 Max to Bristol at this stage but making assumptions of storage or ready for when international flights resume after the current lockdown restrictions.
